Private Tutoring -

.

We will start with a conversation about what’s been going on for your child. I want to hear your concerns and get a sense of your child’s concerns. Next we’ll look at testing, evaluations, report cards, teacher comments, etc. to get a clear understanding of what’s happening in the school environment.  With your permission, I will have a conversation with anyone who has direct experience with your child’s learning challenges.

Once I have a clear idea of what your child needs, we will discuss how to make tutoring work within the life of your family. We’ll talk about time of day, length of tutorial, location and more in order to insure that tutoring fits into your child’s schedule in the least disruptive manner.  Our tutors have met with students at homes, at school, at grandma’s house, at public libraries, at community centers and parks. And remotely you can be anywhere in the world!

Next, I will ask questions about your child’s personality, favorite things, and attitude towards receiving tutorial support. This information will guide my choices of a tutor. Our goal is for tutoring to be as enjoyable and effective as possible, and the relationship formed between the student and the tutor is critical to the success of these goals.

Lastly, I will share my sliding scale for an hourly rate. I will ask you to choose the rate that works within your family's budget.  I trust your judgement.
